Lobster is just delicious, people are great, going there for more than 20 yrs...i love their food and specially the service.

Got a huge portion of pork picadinho delivered. Damn did it smell good. The pork cubes actually tasted pretty good too but they were dry and fatty. I kept having to spit pieces out. I have gotten picadinho at many places and it's usually served over potato cubes. Here they serve it on a bed of frozen french fries. Unfortunately this experience went downhill after my initial hopes.

The food is very tasty and reasonable priced, the only advise I can give them is to update their hours on Google as it says they close at 1am but tjey close at 10:30pm. Overall this is a great place to dine in.

Monday thru Friday daily lunch specials. A most economical way to enjoy authentic Portugese food. TV is always tuned to Portugal either football or the news. My last meal there was less salty and that's a good thing at my age. Portions are very generous. Enough for two lunches but the food is so good I stuff myself and clean my plate. Parking is difficult. Arrive at 11;45 and you will find a space on the street. DO NOT PARK IN BURGER-KING LOT you will get towed

Absolutely delicious. Everything was top notch. Great service. The seafood in the stew was cooked to perfection. Bursting with flavor.

I would recommend reservations on a weekend as the place is on the small size. We went on a Saturday night around 5:00 and the restaurant was 1/4 full. By the time we got through with our meal the place was packed. If you want a quiet place to eat avoid this place as it is very noisy. There is no parking so you have to find a place on the street. The food we ordered was very good and not salty as some people have complained about. When we first sat down the waiters were very attentive - as the place filled up the service was less, which is understandable. For people that like Portuguese beer they have Super Bock and Sagres. We have made this one of our favorite restaurant stops as they have a good variety of Portuguese dishes. I would have given it 5 stars except for the parking and noise level when the restaurant is full.

Ordered t bone steak dinner. No flavor. The olives and the bread had more taste. Gave it to my dog

They also gave us a small bottle of wine for the holidays. There is not a lot of seating available. The ambiance is casual.

Portugal Express is cozy, lively and full of delicious smells. The staff is very friendly and very professional. I love all the meals I have had here.. I start off with my favorite wine, Monte Velho, My spouse enjoys the olives and I consume the crusty bread with butter. Then we have garlic shrimp, clams casino and chorizo. I love the paella and the barbecued chicken. I am not Portuguese but I enjoy piri piri on my food. My spouse always gets fish which is fresh and delicious.

If you’re looking for good priced Portuguese food this is the place to go!

Wow! Just wow! Lots of food for such an affordable price I couldn’t even finish it because I don’t eat rice (keto)All this for $15. Feeds up to 3 people. Makes no sense. To the point that it doesn’t even make more sense that it’s well seasoned and super tasty

Great atmosphere, large variety of traditional Portuguese dishes on the menu, friendly staff. Great place to visit for a family lunch and/or dinner. Not so good to park around, but that’s not the restaurant fault. There’s a Burger Kinger across the street, you may park there. Very good place to satisfy your hunger for specialty food

Alright, so I’m not quite sure what all the hype is about... service was great when we went, definitely a solid first impression. However, the food was definitely not what I expected it to be. The chicken was almost rubbery in a way, didn’t really have the texture of chicken but I guess it was chicken...? Who knows. The stuff tasted alright, but the chicken... wouldn’t go back for it.

Nice little hidden gem in Elizabeth. A corner bar and restaurant we have been going to. A family owned business. Inez, the restaurant manager is a sweetheart who always welcomes her regular Patrons. Daily specials and always crowded. Parking is a challenge with street parking spaces. Right off Rt. 1 & 9. Prices are reasonable and generous portions.

Good food, nice food portions, good service. Real Portuguese food. Parking is a little hard to get, but go around the block again and you will find one.

Not the kinda place I would normally go to. But the food was great and staff was friendly. I waited for a redicilous about of time for bill. Actually went and got it from waitress. I would give it another go though. Update,,, I just have went when it was super busy, this time the service was super quick. The filet with mushrooms was phenomenal, and only 22 bucks.

I do not recommend this place if u have a kid with you, there is no kid menu.The rice taste like boxed rice.The only thing ur kid to have would be “chicken tenders “ with fries. The fish kinda taste off but it’s not bad. The dishes don’t look appetizing. I’m just saying DONT TRY THIS PLACE!!

Oh my God, you have to try the octopus here. I have been coming here with Gotham Films for the past few years and this place has great value and amazing food. I always get the skirt steak and octopus.

Great food and service

Good food but only 3 servers, very slow service waited 20 mins for my drinks, wanted dessert they kept walking by without asking finally I asked them por my check. Poor customer service...

Roaches. Went many times with my old boss and his family and it was good. Stopped going when I found a cockaroach in my food.
